Have you ever heard of the Legend of King Arthur? Well, this book is about teenager Ellie Harrison and her parents who move to a new town for her father's research on Arthurian legend. Ellie, (Elaine) was named after The Lady of Shallot from the same legend. As Ellie gets settled in to life at Avalon High she soon realizes that there are so many similarities among her classmates and the characters in King Arthur. The quarterback and captain of the football team is Will "Arthur" Wagner. Will's girlfriend is the head cheerleader, Jennifer (Guinevere). Will finds out his girlfriend is seeing his best friend, Lance and decides to break up with Jennifer after feeling a special connection to Ellie. There is a mystical conflict coming and the only way to dissolve it is for Ellie to make a decision on how to act. Will she make the right decision? Can she save Will from his evil step brother, Marco (Mordred)? You would like this book if you like reading about legends and myths; moverover, I would recommend this book if you are familiar with and like the legend of King Arthur.
