Book Review: A Long Way Gone by Ishmael Beah

Image from RRHS Catalog

This book is about Ishmael Beah, and he is also the author of the book. His life takes place in mostly east and central Africa. His whole younger life is a gripping story of a child’s journey through hell and back. There may be up to as many as 300,000 child soldiers, hopped up on drugs wielding AK-47s. This book is about his life experiencing rebel warfare at ages 12-15. You would like this book if you like… reading about violence, drugs, war in Africa.
