Jacob is a teenage boy with a special connection to his grandfather. However, when his grandfather dies, he goes on a quest to understand many mysteries about his life, must make life changing decisions on the way, and embarks on a journey in a completely new world that his grandfather was secretly a part of since his childhood. The plot of this series opener is intense, and the characters that you're introduced to all have dynamic and varying personalities--which makes for some special moments. You would like this book if you like Harry Potter by JK Rowling or Maze Runner by James Dashner.
