Student Review: Belly Up (FunJungle) by Stuart Gibbs

Image from RRISD catalog

Teddy's parents work at Funjungle, the largest zoo in the world. While Teddy is busy giving the monkeys water balloons, word gets out that Funjungle's mascot, Henry the Hippo, died of an unknown cause. Teddy wants to know more, so he investigates further, and soon finds himself in great danger. The book isn't super hard to read, and it's really interesting. The ending was unexpected and satisfying, as are all of the endings in Stuart Gibbs' mystery books. There are lots of mysterious events in the book that keep you thinking about who could have killed the hippo. This was a really interesting book, I couldn't stop reading it, which is surprising. It made me want to check out other books in the series which are equally as good. You would like this book if you like mysteries and books by Stuart Gibbs such as the Spy School series or Space Case series. Although, personally, I think the Funjungle series is the best out of the three.
