Student Review: The Maze Runner by James Dashner

Image from RRHS Catalog

There are many teenagers that are trapped inside a giant maze. They were placed there by an organization called wicked. Wicked is using the maze to test the kids and test their capabilities. One day, Thomas, the main character is dropped into the maze. After he is out of his shock, he tries to learn about the maze and how the other "Gladers" get their food, water, etc... Thomas decides to be a runner. The runners explore the maze during the day to see if they can map it out but Thomas soon realizes that the maze moves at night. The only issue, is that at night, the "grievers" come out to kill anyone or anything that is stuck in the maze. The book is full of action and it never gets boring. Also, the book is apart of a series so, after you finish this one, you can move on and continue to read about the escape from the giant test that is being run by wicked. You would like this book if you like… any kind of sci-fi thriller or dystopian read.
