Every Last Word is a contemporary young adult novel about a teen girl dealing with purely obsessional OCD and keeping it at bay enough to stay in the cool squad at her high school. The main character's mental illness and anxiety are explored in great detail, as is her ongoing therapy. This book is an amazing inside look into the mind and emotions of someone that struggles with mental illness; however, I must add a trigger warning because there is mention of suicide, among other things that might trigger intense emotional responses. But it really is an amazing book and it is so well written. You would like this book if you like… YA fiction novels, romance, poetry, All The Bright Places, or Suicide Notes.
