National Day of Silence: Friday, April 19, 2013

The National Day of Silence is a day of action in which students across the country vow to take a form of silence to call attention to the silencing effect of anti-LGBT bullying and harassment in schools. This silence not only serves as a memorial to the hundreds of students that have taken their own lives due to anti-LGBT bullying by reminding us of the voices we will never hear again but also challenges us to think of ways to end the silence that often accompanies bullying. For more information about National Day of Silence, visit http://www.dayofsilence.org. In addition, you can research information about issues pertinent to the LGBT community and find ways to support your fellow Dragons at the campus library.
